Below you will find all of the links to all of the things that have to do with Con Discordia. We are working on creating a website where you can find all of these links, which I will post once it’s completed. A couple of items are indeed missing, and those items as well as what is presented here will be put up on the website as soon as they are finalized.
Additionally, the Board of Directors, the NST, and the NC have each requested a Q&A session during the convention. Here are the Google form you can use to submit questions ahead of the con. Each of these forms will close in one week’s time (Thursday, May 11th) in order to give each office time to process questions. Each officer may take additional questions as time permits during their respective Q&A. Also, we will be recording these sessions and making them available to the club as a whole. Please note that this does not replace the required Q&A the Board of Directors is obligated to hold during our annual MES Con event. The game schedule will not change, we are working the Q&A’s around the existing game schedule, which will be finalized next week.
Lastly, the server is not ready to receive people yet. We will be giving the invite link at some point next week. You must have a current and active MES Membership OR a Trial Membership in order to attend Con Discordia 2023.

Thank you for your patience as we put the final details together for MESCon 2023. We will once again be traveling to New Orleans!! The dates of the con are from Thursday, August 24th through Sunday, August 27th. We will get the official hotel information, room block information, and the booking link closer to the event. The room block does include the evening of Wednesday August 23rd through the morning of Monday, August 28th. All of these details will be released after MESConline 2023 in May.
There will be an online auction prior to MESCon 2023 and a live auction at the event itself. We will be announcing the full details in July prior to the start of the online auction.
At this time I am seeking event staff. 2nd Event Lead, Decor Lead, and Security Lead. Please send a resume which includes your MES number, a contact email, and your qualifications to nca@nca.modernenigmasociety.org.
So after doing some workshopping on the name for the online convention in May, it’s been decided that it shall instead be called Con Discordia!! Nothing else has changed, including the dates and game schedule. Though here is a reminder of details.
Con Discordia Online Auction: Sunday, April 23rd to Sunday, May 7th
Con Discordia 2023: Friday, May 19th through Sunday, May 21st
All times set to CST
Friday May 19th Vampire: The Masquerade – War Never Changes – 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm CST
Saturday, May 20th Werewolf: The Apocalypse – On Frayed Threads – 11:00 am to 4:00 pm CST
Vampire: The Masquerade – 13th Hour – 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm CST
Sunday, May 21st Changeling: The Dreaming: Breaking Winter – 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST
More details on the auction will come closer to this date. Server details will also come closer to the con’s date so that staff have the time to set things up. The con itself is free to all members, and we will require verification of your current MES status. So please make sure your membership is up to date prior to this con.
We are of course in need of staff. If you are interested in volunteering for the ST side of things, you can contact the NST at nst@st.modernenigmasociety.org. If you are interested in helping to staff the event itself, please reach out to me at nca@nca.modernenigmasociety.org.
And of course if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Changelings, also known as the Lost, are humans who were abducted by the Fae. Unlike most who suffer this fate, the Lost have managed to find their way back through the Hedge (the barrier between our world and the fairy world) to the mortal world, but their time in the Faerie realm (Arcadia) has irrevocably changed their bodies, minds and souls. A Changeling’s true, inhuman mien is hidden by his Mask, the aspect of Fae magic that makes Faerie creatures and artefacts seem mundane to mortal eyes. Very few Changelings are able to reclaim their old lives, or make entirely new ones without retaining ties to the fae realm.
Changeling: The Lost is a game about people in awful situations, who have mustered the strength to move on. It’s about learning to survive in a new world, one that looks like the one you grew up in, but one you’ll never see the same way because of what you’ve been through. It’s about struggling to find a balance between facing the world, and looking back and healing. It’s about knowing that you could become a victim at any time, and trying to walk the line between security and paranoia. It’s about staying safe while not consuming your life by dwelling on the past. It’s about dealing. It’s about growing. It’s about healing.
We have found a new site for our Changeling the Lost game and are pleased to kick start 2023 – we are always welcoming new players and there’s no time like the present to join!

I’m excited to see our numbers growing! We have 34 members of the Domain (including Trial Members), and we hope to grow that in 2023.
Changeling the Lost is moving to a new site and weekend for 2023 (TBD) and if you want to check out a totally different kind of game, I encourage you to reach out to Aaron.
Annual Costs
Not including the occasional cost of props or credit card fees, here are the current fixed costs for the domain. The Lodge has locked in our price for 2023, which is great news – it will remain at $250 per day!

Our Site Fees for 2023:
Site fees go directly towards the expenses detailed above. Any excess is held in reserve and our goal in 2023 is to rebuild our reserves. The Domain’s large treasury reserve is what allowed us to return to gaming in person in 2022, even though our total intake each month has been less than our total expenses. Unfortunately we’ve exhausted that reserve and so we need to manage our cash flows carefully in 2023. Our standard site fee is increasing to $15 per day, but we have 4 tiers:

YOU select your site fee each session. You do not need to justify your selection, and the scholarship fund is always available to pay for some or all of your site fee. Just select Scholarship on the Sign In Form. Bring a guest – a player’s first day is always free!
As a reminder, your current officers are:
Wendy – Domain Coordinator – nhma.dc@gmail.comThis is an elected position and my job is to make sure we have a place to play and that all staff and players are treating each other with respect and abiding by the MES Code of Conduct. I also am often the first point of contact for new players. In 2023 I hope to focus more on member education – our organization has a lot of layers to it and understanding those can enhance your game experience. My term is actually up in February, so if you think you want my job, talk to me about how to be Domain Coordinator! But I also plan to run again because I like helping make our domain grow and our members and guests feel welcome. I am looking for assistants, if you want to get involved, email me!
Dray – Domain Storyteller – nhma.dst@gmail.comThis is an elected position. Dray is in charge of making sure our Venue Storytellers have what they need to run their games. He is also the person you can go to if you have a concern about one of our Venue STs. Venue Storytellers (VSTs) have a lot of influence over your game experience as a player, and we want to be sure there is someone you can talk to with any questions or concerns.
Chris – Vampire VST – nhma.masq2020@gmail.com
Dan – Werewolf VST – boston.apoc.vst@gmail.com
Aaron – Changeling the Lost VST – boston.lost.vst@gmail.com
Our Venue Storytellers are in charge of running their games. Aaron is looking to grow the Changeling the Lost game, so look for more details on that for 2023. Storytellers are elected by the players. If you have a character, you get to vote for who your ST is. If you think you might want to be an ST some day, ask about helping out as an assistant. Storytelling is a skill and like any other, you get better with practice. Our STs are elected for a 1 year term, so I know that towards the end of 2023, we’ll be looking for folks to step up and run for VST. Which means you have almost a whole year to learn the job and decide if it’s right for you!
